Vlabons Group was founded in late 2008. with the main activity of fruit production, specifically apples, until recently on an area of 19 hectares, and from two years ago with a new planting of 15 hectares, with high density , which will contribute to even higher yields, one hectare in full yield. The “Vlabons Group” company’s four apple varieties are spread over 34 acres – Granny Smith, Gala, Golden delicious and Red delicious.
Yield in 2019. is 1500 tons, which will grow from 2020. when full crop is being reached in the new orchard plantation, a yield stabilization of about 2. 500 tons is expected each year. For ten years, the “Vlabons Group” apples have been distributed to the Russian market
Company owns a modern ULO cold storage with a dynamic and controlled atmosphere of 1. 600 tons capacity, and in the next two years, it is planned to expand the cold storage by 500 tons, in order to have a final capacity of 2. 100 tons. The cold storage also includes a modern Greefa packaging and sorting machine from the Netherlands.
All kinds of apples have so far been sold to markets in Russia – X 5 and Magnit, and their feedbacks have been excellent, they were more than satisfied with the quality of the apples.
Goals
In addition to apple production, in spring 2021. we are planning to make an area of 8 hectares long modern planting of cherry trees according to Italian technology, and after that, we are planning to complete the planting of cherries with another area of 8 hectares, which will take up to area of 16 hectares in the end.
So we will have an orchard area of 50 hectares, with two kinds of fruit – apples and cherries.
Proper and long-term storage means controlling oxygen levels, carbon dioxide concentrations, establishing optimal relative humidity and temperature while maintaining chamber hygiene. Controlling the atmosphere in a storage capacity of 2.100 tones, situated to 14 chambers, are made by modern devices of a prestigious brand in this field – Isolcell.
